| Prof. Dr. Nazmun Nahar is a distinguished ophthalmologist with extensive qualifications, including an MBBS and Diploma in Ophthalmology from the University of Dhaka, and FCPS in Ophthalmology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is the first female ophthalmologist in Bangladesh to earn the prestigious FRCS from the Royal College of Glasgow, as well as a second FRCS from the Royal College of Edinburgh. A highly skilled Vitreo-Retina surgeon, Prof. Dr. Nazmun Nahar completed long-term fellowships in Vitreo-Retina from the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, and Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital, Dhaka. She has held key positions, including Head of Retina at Islamic Eye Hospital and currently serves as Professor and Head of Retina at Lions Eye Institute and Hospital, Dhaka. With over 10,000 surgeries to her credit, she is an expert in Ophthalmic Trauma, Cataract Surgery, and Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), having trained in ROP at LVPEI, Hyderabad. Prof. Dr. Nahar is a pioneer in ROP screening and treatment in Bangladesh and mentors the retina fellowship program. She also serves as a teacher and examiner for postgraduate students in Ophthalmology. |
